'daisy sisters' by henning mankell

a story about the life of a mother and daughter in sweden, starting during the 2nd world war. how each of them copes with what life gives them to digest and to choose.

i could never have imagined that a man, who also writes crime stories, can write such a lovely story. mankell can put himself into the mind of a woman, can write the feelings the way women percieve them. for sure great bookclub material. i can totally recommend this book. i think it is a 'must be read' novel in the 21st century.

(library book, originally written in swedish, by me read in german)
